## FAQs

How does file sharing differ from online proofing?

File sharing is one-way delivery for download; online proofing adds markup, version compare, and approvals on top of that shared file.

How does a client gallery improve client experience?

Instead of clunky zip files, clients scroll a clean visual grid that mirrors your style, select favorites in one click, and pay for extras—all in the same interface.

What link-expiry options exist in modern file sharing tools?

Most services let you set destruction after X days or downloads—ideal for NDA work or large campaigns.

Can I track downloads in a file sharing portal?

Yes. Tools like Picflow logs timestamp and file names, allowing you to track every download and client hand-off.

What internet spee is required for fast file sharing of large video files?

A 100 Mbps connection moves a 1-GB file in roughly 80 seconds. Fiber up-links slash that further.

How secure is a modern client gallery?

Password gates, expiring links, and optional watermark overlays ensure only invited viewers see the work.

What file resolution should a client gallery deliver?

Offer originals and resized versions: web-sized JPEG for quick proofing and full-res originals. Picflow does automatically resize images for you.

How long should a client gallery remain live?

In most cases 3–12 months. After that, galleries are usually archived to save storage space.

Can a client gallery integrate with lab fulfillment?

Some platforms connect to labs so prints ship automatically once a client purchases. This is mostly used by wedding photographers so they can earn an additional buck by selling prints.
